Gastroscopy??

I am having this done next week to be sure my stomach is ok

my sister had it.... it was pretty quick, they gave her a 'twilight' anesthesia so she would be comfortable & it was the most effective test she had (among about 30 kinds of tests).

I had one Jenn. I was knocked out for it though so I can't tell you much. I felt fine afterward, not even a sore throat.

I am sure that you will be fine! I wish you one as easy as mine was.

Never had it, but I've seen many done. It's a relatively routine procedure these days, and a good diagnosic test. It is not normally done under general anesthesia, but rather a 'twilight', like someone else mentioned. They will often give a vailum like drug through an IV to put you out a bit. The ones I've seen have been quick, and uncomplicated. You will probably be a bit sleepy the rest of the day.
I can understand your nervousness though! Will DH be with you?

I used to work with a woman who had one (she had severe acid reflux problems), and she said it wasn't too bad. Believe me, if she said it wasn't bad, it musn't be. She was the biggest hypochondriac/drama queen in the world, and she didn't even try to milk this one.
