Has anyone ever had the dj play the ceremony music at the hall?
I put a post up about ceremony musicians but someone replied about maybe having the dj do it. I know it would save money but my mom seems to think its not right to not have live music for the ceremony anyone else?

We had our DJ do the ceremony at the hall - it was fine! The ceremony was so short we didn't really see the point of getting someone to perform. I thought it worked out wonderfully - we went with classic or tradional music that they selected. (I was at the end of my decision making skills by then so we let them chose.)

That is what I am planning to do. The song I want to walk down the aisle has very significant lyrics, in another language, so I don't want to take any chances. I asked my reception hall about it and they said it was no problem.

We had the DJ do our ceremony music and I've been to a lot of weddings that have done the same thing. I didnt like the CD the DJ gave me to listen to so I went out and purchased a few.. found versions that I liked better and he played those.

me too DJ for all my music.
Didnt see the use in paying for another vendor when it's all inclusive with my DJ.

Huntington Townhouse happens to have the Chapel wired for sound. The DJ will be set up in the reception room, but his music will be 'broadcast' in the Chapel and then in the Cocktail room. It's much more convenient. We can have any songs we want this way, too.

This is what we are planning to do, also. Our ceremony is only going to be a few minutes, so we saw no reason to hire someone else to do the music.
