I know this must sound crazy - but that's what I'm looking for... someone told my husband that they sell namebrand appliances that are dented or scratched (discounted of course)
Has anyone ever heard of a place like this and do you know the name and where it is located?
Thanks!!!

There used to be one in Merrick by Jerusalem Ave I think. It's been years since I lived there and I can't seem to remember street names now. It was up the block from Jerusalem and Bellmore Ave intersection (there is a Carvel and a Rite Aid). About a block up from the SS Pkwy overpass.

I know that places like PC Richards will sell damaged appliances for a discount. A friend of mine bought a big screen tv on discount from there because there was a scratch on the back!

Check on Ebay.

My g/f bought a washer and dryer from Sears on Ebay. They had a scratch or 2 and they were 1/2 price!!

Check the clearance racks at any major appliance store. Sears, PC Richards, Mr. Jays... and Home Depot.
We got our Maytag refrigerator 1/2 off at Home Depot b.c the box was damaged! There was nothing wrong with the fridge at all. Boy did we luck out!

Fortunoff's clearance center has some stuff like that - a lot of it is garbage though, but may be worth the visit. We found our dining room table there - it was slightly damaged but we didn't care - we wanted to furnish the place cheaply

The Deer Park PC Richards is the Scratch & Dent center. They send all their stuff there. My cousin bought a great top of the line stove with a little dent in the side for a real bargin price. Definately worth checking out

I know my mom used to buy them from PCRichards. They were in the basement so she didn't care. They were discounted but I'm not sure how much.

There is a little store on Atlantic avenue In lynbrook that sells dented or scratched appliances. It is right near the high School. A few stores away from the Atlantic Deli.
