Believe it or not I got this information from a Florist. She said a very popular trend now for brides to help save money at their church ceremony is to find out if there is another wedding either directly before or directly after your wedding (same day). Then ask them if they would like to go half and half on flowers and decorating the church because people don't take any of that stuff with them it just stays at the church.
eta: This idea was ONLY for the church NOT for the reception.

ive heard of it ...one of my friends did it at the hilton ...they were having the outdoor ceremony so they used to flowers from the day before for the decorations...i think its a great idea !

wow thats a GREAT idea!! but the church were using i dont think there will be any other weddings is very small community!.. but that really is a great idea!

ive heard of the idea but i dont know anyone who has actually done this. if you find someone who is using the church the same day and are comfortable with the people etc...then its worth a shot. You just have to consider if you think it will cause any tension/drama because you have two sets of people who need to agree on the same thing etc. it could be worth a try though!

I actually think thats a great idea. But hopefully they have the same style and color theme. How come people don't take it with them. I understand not right away. But why can't a BM or GM go back to the church the next day to collect the things?
