If so, what's it like? My DH might have a job opportunity there, so we're thinking about moving. We'd most likely move to the surrounding suburban area, not in the city itself. I hear the winters are pretty brutal, but we're snow people so it's OK. Any other info about the area (good and bad!) would be appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: Has anyone ever lived in Chicago?
Hi, I lived in Chicago for two winters!!!and came back east in the summer. I love love love Chicago and cannot wait to go back to visit. The winters are brutal but the social life is great so it more than makes up for it. The people are really nice and friendly. The city itself is beautiful and easy to navigate. I lived about 25 mins from O'Hare airport in a mostly polish neighborhood, 20 mins to downtown on the 'L' so very convenient. Seems like they have a lot of neighborhoods like the one I lived in with relatively low crime rates but you are still within an easy commute to downtown. Of course there are some trendier neighborhoods nearer to the downtown area but they are more expensive. Good luck to you both if you decide to move there.
