Has anyone ever taken the lining out of a pair of pants?
I have a pair of pants where the lining ripped. I am wondering if I should spend the money and get a new lining put in or just take it out. They are a wool blend

I would put in a new lining.... If you take it out - they will most likely be itchy....

I wonder how expensive it would be. Maybe I should just try to take them back. I bought them at Ann Taylor Loft in October 2003. I have the receipt. I wonder if they would give me credit and I could get something new and springy instead.

you can have the lining repaired...I torn the lining in a pair of pants (not on the seam) and brought it to the seamstress at the dry cleaner and she put some kind of material on it and stitched it up...$12...

Ann Taylor Linings in general s.uck...
I say take it out if the fabric is not too itchy (turn them insideout to check). I did it on one pair, b/c I got tired of repairing the lining...

They are a wool blend, but not an itchy blend. Wool/rayon/lycra. Maybe I will see how much it would be to get it repaired and if it is ridiculous, I will cut out the lining.

I hate when pants linings rip. I have never gotten one replaced but I have gotten them repaired only for them for rip again after a couple of wearings. I find when they get repaired they become smaller and tighter and I usually rip them again quickly. Although my tailor at the time did warn me that may happen. It was about $20 for me to get them repaired (I was living in the city).
The last time it happened (surprise - Ann Taylor suit pants)...I just had the lining removed. The pants are fine but they feel much thinner (not wool pants so they aren't too think to begin with) and I am self conscious so I don't wear them often.
