The swatch I got for my dress was whiter than my actual dress came in, so... now my veil is too white.
A lady suggested quickly dipping it in tea to make it slightly more to the ivory side... but that is scary to me.
Anyone ever try this???

No and it doesnt sound safe to me! Maybe you can take it somewhere to have it died?

I did back in the day for a school project - I would not reccomend doing this for your veil because you do not know how it will come out - I agree with the other ladies - have it dyed professionally if you fell the difference is too significant ..if you really want to diy you can buy some of the same material as your veil and do a test run

The difference in shade is slight, but enough to need something.. I looked like I had someone else's veil on..
I think I'll test it on regular tulle first and if I ruin it, I'm hoping Barron's could make me another one on short notice... (*really hoping*)

I would go to a show store that dyes and see if they could do it for you - it probably won't be that much. And, if you bought your shoes at a place like this and didn't dye them, they might do it for you for free - I know my store (craft shoes) said they'd dye my shoes for free, but I don't need them dyed -- so maybe they would do something else for me if I needed it... ?

um that sounds risky!! Maybe bring a swatch of the fabric to the garmet district and find some for your veil that matches? Or bring it to a professional that knows what they are doing and can dye it for you.

I'm sorry, but every time I pass this subject on the board, it sounds a little dirty!
Seriously though, I've actually never heard of this though. I'd be afraid to try it.
