we've used priceline for hotels a few times and it's great! the only thing is that if your bid gets accepted there is no taking it back. so make sure you know what you want!

Re: Has anyone ever used Priceline.com
I have heard people say the hotel system is really well. I have called travel agencies and I guess b/c its a holiday and that Friday is valentines day everybody and the devil are planning a trip. I got crazy rates. I mean we are buying a house right now so the only way my husband will approve is if I get a good rate.
I want to try priceline but I want to get some reviews on the place since there is no turning back after they accept the bid.

hotel system works great, flights though arent great
you put in the price you want and then they find an airline that will take the price. you have to fly when they tell you. so basically if you want to pay 300 dollars for roundtrip to vegas and leave on the 24th, priceline will do a search and then tell you ok you are leaving on american at 9pm or your leaving on continental at 7am.

FH and I have used priceline a LOT .. both for flights and hotels. its great for hotels - you get great prices and the hotels they use are good quality. with flights you just have to be willing to follow their schedule - if youre flexible its the best option. check out flight prices on other airlines first though (like expedia and orbitz). with priceline you have to keep putting in bids, and then it tells you if they're accepted or not. if you find that the bid you're putting in is too high and is still not being accepted - then just stop and go with a normal flight.
and also remember that it'll add taxes to the bid .. but with expedia the taxes are included. so definitely use it for the hotel, just do some comparing on the flight

check out jetblue.com. they may fly to where you are going. FI and i only fly jetblue to florida.
i love the leather seats and the direct tv. if you book online you save 10 dollars r/t and you can pick your seat

another expedia fan here
FH swears by orbitz though
edited to say that some airlines offer last minute airfare deals which might apply for president's day weekend .. so you might want to check out their sites.

NWR - but I met my FH on the Priceline.com IPO roadshow! So naturally they have a special place in my heart!
I prefer Expedia. Once you book air through priceline you absolutely cannot make any changes and you have to go with what ever they book. You can also try Site59.com for last minute travel.

I have never used priceline, but I have used www.skyauction.com to go to Pennsylvania (twice) and have had great experiences with them. They always have a bunch of holiday vacations.
