Has anyone give a BM
An out to step down? How did it go, did they take it and did you offer them another part in the wedding or offer to pay for any expenses they already paid?

I haven't but it really depends on the circumstances behind the 'stepping down' decision, I think. For example, if it is a money reason, then I'd say something like, 'I know things are really tight for you right now. If you'd like to back out of the wedding, I completely understand.' However, if its because you don't get along or something like that, then it has to be handled differently.
I didnt have to do that but my sister did. She had asked my cousin to be her BM and she clearly had no interest. Sge came with us looking for BM dresses and that was as far as it got. My sister basically told her she asked her to be inn the wedding because she wanted to, but if she felt she could not be in it (for wahtever reasons), that she'd understand. So, my cousin did back out. She didnt buy a BM dress yet so there were no expenses that she laid out. My sister did not give her any other role in the weddings.
