That's a good idea, but sounds to me a little too much like that episode of Sex & the City where the woman didn't serve 'brown food' at her house party Definitely a good way to make sure nothing awful happens to your dress though!! And after all the money we're spending, that's a real priority I think

I've never heard of that one. I definitely understand not wanting anything to get spilled on your dress, but not sure its fair for the guests!

That's exactly what I was thinking!! I do agree - I would be very upset though if something got on my dress

Definitely not. I need my cosmos. I don't think you have to worry about that. I worked in a catering hall and out of 100's weddings I worked I have seen that only once. Don't worry!

I can understand the idea, but I think I'd laugh pretty hard if a bartender told me I couldnt have red wine cause it was a white bar, IMO. I'd probably respond with, 'are you kidding me?'
I'd just be careful. walking around near people with drinks.

that would be my response too, 'are you kidding me?' lol. but i am worried about my dress, and maybe i should take the advice of just staying away from typsy people who are drinking red wine.l

yeah, just stay away from tipsy folks with the red wine. I used to work for a caterer and I never saw a guest spill a drink on a bride. I did though see a number of brides spill their own drinks and food on themselves - so I would definitely avoid drinking red wine or cosmos.

Not to be rude....but i think having an all white bar is absolutely ridiculous. I understand your concern about getting something on your dress, cause I have that concern too but I want to have a good time not worry about every detail. If you are that worried about spilling something on your dress get a poncho but dont take it out on your guests who are expecting a classy setting. If I went to a wedding and they told me no colored drinks I would think the bride is nuts and i would probably talk about it to everyone. But thats just me, there are dry cleaners and you only wear it once.

Maybe you can have your MOH or FH run interference and make sure that no one approaches you carrying a dark colored drink?

I have NO problem telling people to back off if they have red wine in their hand. So I think I'll stick with the regular bar

I heard there is this container you can purchase - it's called 'The Bride Bubble' exclusively for the big day.
It's for the self-obsessed, narcasistic bride whose thoughts are more about her appearance than anything else! It allows you to remain in a safe, coated plastic bubble so no one has any chance of ruining your VERY expensive, very pretty dress. Extra Bonus: It also prevents you from having to hug any relatives you particularly dislike!
Instead of a white bar girls, go for the more practical option - 'The Bride Bubble' sold at any fine Long Island Bridal retailer.

the only problem is that i am my Own worst enemy hahaha
i'll probably be the first one to spill something on myself. i dont really care though.. whats that saying 'no use crying over spilt milk'... that wouldnt be something that i would let ruin my day (well, as long as its After pictures, anyway)
