Has anyone gone on Carnival before, they have a cruise leaving May 2nd 2011 and I'm interested? How is the quality of their cruises?

I have been on 4 carnival cruises I like them A LOT you get a great deal for your money. THat said I would not go on one for my HM. There are a lot of children and older people on board.
Any other trip I have no quams about Carnival at all.

I've been on 2, FH has been on maybe 8, other FILs have been on 10+....there's a reason we're all repeat cruisers. I don't find it to be over the top party boat, but that's just me. The one leaving out of NYC was moreso than the out of Miami, but I didn't find it to be a problem in the least.

I've been on Carnival and I loved it! I've also been on norwegian and i love that too but i felt like carnival had a better nightlife.. more to do, better bars etc... you definitely won't be disappointed.
What I like better about norwegian is the freestyle cruising- you can have dinner any time you want which gives you mroe freedom to lay by the pool longer if you want to. I am going on another norwegian cruise again in a month but I would totally take carnival again any time. highly recommend it!

I went in August and had a great time. We left out of Tampa. The food was really good and the dj in the club was good. The only thing that ****** was there was only one pool. They had recently renovated the ship and it now has those water slides on the back. So on those days at see, be prepared for the pool to be paaaaaacked with children. Unless your ship is bigger.

sorry to be the party pooper..i hate being that girl who disagrees...but hopefully you value honest opinions
having been on carnival as well as royal carribean and norwegian... i'd really have to say no
i really felt like the food was sooooo much better on the other lines as well as the service and quality of the ships
too many kids on carnival and i felt like the entertainment was a little cheesy in comparison to the others
i'd look into prices of norwegian first... royal carib can be a little more pricey

it was good...but in the beginning at boarding they gave my card to someone else...and wouldnt let me on the ship...the picture of the woman was in her 60's and i was only 20!!! so this woman was walking around with mine and my fh debit cards attached....when we complained they gave us $50 off our next cruise....they held us for 45 mins!!! we probably wouldnt do carnival again....sry...

I did NCL which was okay only good part for FH and me was not set dinner time which FH liked more then my food loving a$$

Yeah, I wanted to know about Carnival cause of the dates they had. I went on a Norwegian and did not care for it. I really appreciate the feedback guys, now I know. I was excited cause they had a cruise that went to panama and costa rica.

I went this past July on a Carnival cruise that went to panama, costa rica, and cozumel. It was the Carnival Freedom. FH and I had a great time. If it is the same ship and ports and if you have any questions I would be happy to help.

I personally have no experience w/ cruise lines but one of my co-workers is a big Cruiser (goes w/ his wife 3x each year) and he told me Carnival is more of a younger, 'party' type crowd..He prefers Royal Caribbean. He said that the Carnival ships are not as clean as the ships from other cruise lines..
just something to think about.

I have to agree with the post above mine....I've been on 2 carnival cruises, 1 Royal Caribbean cruise, and 1 celebrity cruise....You pretty much get what you pay for! Carnival is nice but its not classy....there are only 2 pools and like 6 hot tubs. Lots of kids...I say go Royal Caribbean!!! I hope this helps!

I have never been on Carnival though I was considering it for a cruise to nowhere for my friend's bach party a couple of years ago... the only I will say about them they started getting annoying with the phone calls and emails asking me if I was going to book. LOL.
FH's family are NCL loyal so I have been 2 cruises with them. NCL is awesome and they have cruises leaving from NYC in May that go to Bermuda. We'll be going on one this May 2 days after FBIL/FSIL's wedding.

I went with my whole family. it was like 50 of us! we alllll loved it! had an awesome time!!
We arent doing a cruise b/c i feel like the liquor will add up quick!!!

I've been on 2-1st one was a 7 night; 2nd one was a weekend cruise. They're fun. I remember the drinks being strong; and lots of activities during the day.

We booked a Carnival Cruise for our HM and i can not wait!! i have been on several curises and i know that it may be a livelier crowd but i STILL SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
