If so, who is supposed to put the rose petals down??

Mine was similar to that. My DOC did it. If you are not using one, assign the task to someone attending the ceremony or someone in your BP.

It's beautiful but I don't plan on doing that.

I love that also!! Here is another question...who cleans it up and how??? I don't want my DOC to be 'stuck' there for even 15 minutes cleaning it up.

We had something similar. The florist set it all up beforehand and we hired someone to come in afterwards and clean it all up (as well as the rose petals left on the church steps after the petal toss).

I have a question...don't the petals get caught under your dress as your walking down the aisle? Am I wrong? I think it's beautiful but that concerns me.

I don't think it's agood idea. First of all this would need to be done way before the guests arrive. you would need to keep them off of it to keep it pretty. IMPOSIBLE. What about your video people. my best bet is to buy a custom runner

Mine were a little further away from the middle of the aisle. More toward the entrance to the pews. I had no problem with them getting caught under my dress. However, I did have a lot of problems with petals going down my dress during the petal toss. When I took my dress off there were petals pasted to me!!

Yes that is my church. I had to make a lot of calls to get permission for the runner and petals. It was a long time dream to have it set up this way. Once I saw the monogrammed runner I knew I wanted to have one. It definitely was a lot of team work to get it like that. Flower Michele provided the petals and red bows and flowers and Ang&Rich made the gorgeous white pew bows for me. She and her DH also set up the runner and petals before the guests arrived that day. They roped it off with ribbon so no one walked on it and guests just entered from the other side. Not really a big deal. Then when the processional started they removed the ribbon. As far as clean up it was Ang, Rich, my DOC Rosalie, and my other LIW girls Liz, Denise, Azad and their FH/DH. So you definitely need to have people assigned to clean it up. I actually got the runner on ebay for $99. It says 'Grow old with me the best is yet to be' with our names and date and monogram in the middle. When I walked into the church I was so taken back at how gorgeous it looked. It was worth all the planning. Also am very lucky to have such awesome friends. It was funny after we went outside after the ceremony and the petal toss and pictures I went back in the church to look at it again. I wanted to see it and remember it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps. More pics...

Ive heard some people do this by glueing down the petals so you just roll it up and go.

I know it's part of her job, however, she is to be tending to me. I'd hate for her to get stuck at the church cleaning that all up and miss assisting me during pics, getting to the park and getting to the hall.
