Has anyone heard of

A hospitality hour? Someone told me for about 10 minutes how I needed a hopitality hour at Leonard's and we can pay them and people can sit there for an hour and a half drinking coffee and tea and wait for the cocktail hour to start because my time gap is too big. My mom is having people back at our house which is 5 minutes from the church and I think it will be fine. I seriously flipped out a little and I def don't think I need this.

jericho terrace includes this-theres a seperate room and if guests get there early they can sit in the lounge and have coffee, tea, soda, wine, and i think like fruit or something

i really dont think its neccessary though..

Never heard that. If your parents are opening up their house for a few people to stay I think that is fine. People will find something to do in between. Its a wedding, there are time gaps.. they just have to deal with it.. it should be expected anyhow. Don't listen to that person.

I have a pretty big gap too and I have no idea what my guests are going to do in between.. but i dont care, not my problem lol. I'm mean

I think I am fine too and I think people should mind their own business. People will figure our what they are going to go.

Some poeple are so unbelievable!

I have heard of this.. usually when your gap between the church and the CH is long, the hall will give you a hospitatliy hour (my sis got this) where basically the RH provides, coffee, tea, water and cookies for your guests while they wait for CH.. Personally I wouldnt do it... like you arent giving them enough food to begin with!

Are you having that many people who will be at the church and the reception?

I also have a big gap in time.. but i figure people can go to the church (its in our hometown) dressed down. Just stoll on over to see the ceremony. Then they can go home, relax a little then get ready to come to the reception later on. Is that an option for your people as well? I was fortunate enough that my RH takes care of the early arriving guests so even if they show up early it's not a problem.

I definately don't think the hospitality aspect is necessary. It's an added expense... and let's not forget you are already opening your house up to these guests! So why would they go to Leonard's instead?

Some people LOVE to add their input where it isn't necessary. And most of the time their advice is crap. Just smile and nod. Then go about it your own way. If they want a hospitality hour then they can have that when they are paying for their own wedding!

Personally I think you paying for the 5 hour reception is totaly enough. There's so not a need to pay even more so people can drink coffee and tea! Who even goes to a reception an hour early? I sure don't!!!!!!!!!! And again... those silly early birds can go to the house instead! They can drink all their coffee and tea at your mom's house!!!!!!!!!

Through all the jobs I've had in the past... there was one thing I learned that remained a constant through and through.......... PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am having a hospitality, but i am getting married at the RH. as far as i know, that is more if you are getting married at the place, and it gives time for all your guests to get there and get settled. Also, mine is only a half hour.

we have one for a half hour before the ceremony its included. its a nice touch to make sure people get there on time, they will pass some fruit and champagne as people take thier seats. I dotn think its necessary but a nice accomodation for the guests while they wait if you can do it.

Seriously they are.

I won't be doing it I think having people at my house is good enough considering my house is 5 minutes from the church and Leonard's is 45 minutes from my house. I am sure some people will go hone and change too. Every wedding I've been to has had a gap and everyone always found their way and it was fine. I'm not too worried.

Every wedding i've been to has this usually they pass around champagne..i never imagined it would be something they would charge extra for! What are they just going to let everyone stand there bc they left extra time to travel incase there was traffic! Gees!
