I just went to place an order for balloons for my E-party (5 days away!) and they told me they aren't taking any orders and you have to come in that day. Also you can only order 12 (I need 21). I've never heard of this stupid shortage before???

Yeah i just recently heard about it. My cousin's sweet 16 is october 12, and they gave her mom a hard time when ordering the balloons due to the shortage!

I went to 2 party cities and both of them said the same thing! I odn't know whre else to go to order balloons though.

Why dont you order half in one party city and the other half in another, I know that is double the trip but at least you can be sure that you will get the amount you need

I haven't heard about this but I think its the funniest thing I've ever heard! There should be a public service announcement: Please, try to limit your use of helium...no sucking on balloons and making believe you're one of the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz!

i can't believe that, my fh went to a party store to get my get well balloons when i was in the hospital and he said that the balloons were really expensive...haha i asked him im like umm was there like a helium shortage when u got my balloons? and he said no ...but tehy were not cheap!

Yep. There is a shortage for helium right. I work for a construction company and we need helium to weld certain items. We however cant get any. The goverment supposdly has a shortage of this because they are using all of it for aerospace industry, scuba divers, in fiber optics and by the medical industry.
I guess they think ballons arent important to us.

yea i heard about it... my business class teacher told me... he said that instead of getting like 80 gallons of helium they are only getting like 30.. something crazy like that... it's a really low number... i didnt hear about anything else like when the shortage was gonna be over...
