Has anyone heard of the new birth control Seasonale?
I saw a commercial for it yesterday, It looks to good to be true. Only 4 periods a year?? My husband would love it if I only had incredibly horrible mood swings four times a year. Anybody using it??

I just saw the commerical recently as well and thought the same thing! I was talking to my boss about it and she said her gyno actually recommends it (and/or drugs like it) because the less you ovulate the healthier you are. He said that's part of the reason the generation 2 before us (ie our grandparents) lived to be so old - the women were pregnant a lot more often and therefore did not ovulate nearly as much. Not sure I believe it though...seems like a pretty convenient theory.
I digress...don't really know anyone on it but as with everything else, your doctor would be the best place to ask. In the meantime, check out ivillage. It's a great resource for women's issues, there's bound to be something on there about it.

i really want to ask my doc about that. I would LOVE to go on it! i get really bad cramps and PMS and it would be AWESOME to skip a few months!

my friend went on it and had break through bleeding and really bad cramps.

I get worried when they say I don't get my period, even though I would love not to get it...I just feel like it isn't natural. I guess I'll stick with the pill.

They say the break through bleeding only lasts for the first cycle. My friend just started it and so far she has had no break through bleeding at all.

we have alot of breast cancer in my family and some doctors do talk about the fact that in other countries, where the women are pregnant more often, they live without breast cancer - not sure about longer b/c they may not know exactly how old they are or how long people lived before them b/c there are no records -
Seasonale sounds interesting. Not sure if I would take it b/c everytime I am on the pill, I turn into a maniac and feel like crap.
I was reading about it and it sounds great - kind of $$ compared to other BCPills.
