It is in Massapequa Park & FH's aunt suggested it for our rehearsal dinner.

Yes - it's on Park Blvd in Mass Park . I've only been there once, but the food was very good. -

Re: Has anyone heard of the restaurant Sidekicks?
what is the atmosphere like? I think it os too far from the church in Hicksville, but FILs arent'really planning this damn RD they insisted on having & FMIL's sister lives in Massapequa, so she know that area better.

I grew up in Massapequa and it's been there for as long as I remember....has a very good rep!!
Haven't been there in ages, but from what I remember the atmosphere was bar & grill type place.....might have changed since then however...

it's kind of like an upscale bar/grill type place. Very casual - but nice. There is an AMAZING italian place on Jerusalem between Hicksville Rd and Wantagh Ave in Seaford..........I don't know Hicksville very well, I live in Massapequa too

Thanks ladies, I wanted to suggest Peppercorns, but FH think I should stay out of it.

Sidekicks is good. Been to a christening and a bridal shower there.
Could you suggest Singletons? Your aunt will probably know where that is (Hicksville Rd. in Bethpage - 2 miles from Massapequa). That would be a great place for an RD and itn is halfway between Hicksville and where Sidekicks is located.
I have lived in Massapequa since I was 4. Let me know if I can help.

Im also a massapequian (say that fast 3 times) and I've only been there once. Although the food was really good, I found it a bit cramped.

Im guessing if they close off the back part, that would be fine. Why dont you go check it out? Grab some lunch there. I like Singleton's too!!

Re: Has anyone heard of the restaurant Sidekicks?
For 20 people, Sidekicks is fine. They have an elevated section that they hold Bridal Showers and parties in all the time. There's also another room behind the elevated section that they hold parties in. I've been to many events there. I suggest going in there to see what it is like.
Another place to consider is Cherrywood on Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh just North of Sunrise Highway near the McDonald's. It's very good, and a large room.
