I got the call a few weeks ago that my BM dresses are in. The girl was like call to confirm you got it. I had a death in the family so the past few weeks my mind has not been on the wedding. Anyway I called the place today to change my fitting and asked them when do the girls have to come in. I know it's going to be pulling teeth getting them to go in so figured I would ask them if they want to come in with me next week for my first one and if they can't they can go on their own. The lady says 'oh it has to be within two weeks of when they come in otherwise the dress company isn't responsible' So I told her the girl never said this on the message and it's been over 2 weeks so the lady said oh well have them come in as soon as possible Responsible for what and if my MOH takes 2 months to go in, which will probably happen, then what?

Re: Has anyone heard of this before
maybe responsible if there is a problem with the dress... but they definitely should have mentioned a condition like that to you when you ordered the dresses and when they came in... that is a HUGE deal

What would happen if you lived out of town or were away? Thats silly---hopefully everything is fine with dress but they should not expect you to drop everything and run into see dresses....if something is wrong with dress, you should be able to send it back to manufacturing regardless of being within 2 weeks.

is it davids bridal?
when i was in my friends wedding we ordered from davids bridal. They never called me to say that the dresses were in. I called them and they were like umm we have had them 2 weeks tomorrow so if u don't come tomorrow we will send them back. I was like UMMM NOO...I have 2 weeks from today since no one felt the need to call me!!!! I totally fought them on that.

Same thing happened to me with my gown! I got it from DB in Westbury and I called them in mid-December to ask where my dress was (the receipt said my dress was due on Thanksgiving day!). So they tell me 'uhm, we e-mailed you the dress was in about 2-3 weeks ago.'
Really!? How come I didn't get it?? So it went to my SPAM folder, I guess?
Yea I was annoyed by that but I was glad I called otherwise I'd still be sitting here wondering why it was taking them so long..

No, it's not. What the hell, send it back? If they ever sent mine or their dresses back I would go off on a rampage in the place. It's too much for them to hold a dress?

Re: Has anyone heard of this before
that's probably when any liability for damage to the dress transfers from the dress company to.... the bridal salon!! no wonder they're itching for you to get in there

Maybe if the size or color is wrong and no one tells them within two weeks it's nott heir responsibility to remedy that?
Still stupid though
WEstbury David's Bridal btw, whoever mentioned it = I would never have known my BM dress ever came in if I didn't call them myself.
