If you pay the RH in cash you do not have to pay tax? I have never heard of this and I thought that the only payment an RH took was cash or check.
Someone posted on the BHB board asking when should you ask the RH that question.

But, I do believe if I arranged to pay in credit card or checks, the tax would have been added per plate.
I chose cash w/receipts

We asked my hall if we could pay in cash to avoid the tax and as much as we begged, they wouldnt budge and said they dont do things like that/they are honest etc...

Our RH won't do it. They only want a check, they don't even want cash at all. I wish this were true.

It's not about different strokes for different folks. Not paying taxes is called tax evasion and is a felony. The RH can lose their license to operate.

We asked when we signed our contract and our hall charges tax not matter how you pay them...they do not want to get in trouble with the IRS.
