Just wondering if it's possible to do this after you've already put down a deposit. I'm not unhappy with my site, but it just wasn't my ideal (you know, not the picture I had in my head originally). I kind of made a quick decision about it because my first choice reception hall fell through (De Seversky - I passed on it because of the construction which they weren't even going to tell me about!). Now I'm kind of wishing I had looked around more. Has anyone switched their reception hall? Is it possible to do this and get your deposit back? Thanks!

Re: Has anyone here changed their reception site???
You'll have to read your contract on what the cancelation policy is. Some halls do not give back your deposit while others may give you a percentage.

Re: Has anyone here changed their reception site???
I switched mine about a month after I left a deposit for the same reason as you. All I had left was $500 so I was more concerned about not being liable for the full amount than I was about getting the $$ back.
In the end they wound up booking my room again so I got back 1/2 cash and 1/2 credit for the restaurants the company owns.
Every hall has different cancellation policies. so read your contact.
