has anyone looked into honeymoon prices yet?

We were looking last night at sandals in st. lucia...and OMG for a private suite, rondoval thing, 7 nights 8 days 12,000++
Is it just me but does that seem like an insane price for the amount of time...

Is there any hope of getting a good deal on a honeymoon? Or is it all just as expensive as this quote??

sorry i have not looked at prices yet. i hope that is not an average price for honeymoon destinations. i can't believe it could be that expensive. you could buy a new car for around that same price.

i haven't started pricing it yet, but that seems nuts, i hope its not going to cost that much or else we might not be able to afford to go on a honeymoon

Wow. That is CRAZY. We gave ourselves a $5000 budget for the honeymoon. That includes the trip and any incidentals. We plan on doing a Caribbean cruise a few months after the wedding. Our min honeymoon my mother is giving us her Disney Vacation Club points so we'll only need to come up with the airfare and any food/souvenir expenses. We really want a nice honeymoon, but we don't want to break the bank either.

i don't know how crazy that price really is. i believe my bro and SIL paid for Hawaii and a cruise to St. Thomas and such (close to 2 weeks) in the area of $20k for flights, hotels, cruise, etc, etc. and that was 4 years ago. they also went in July

We might actually take a cruise out of NYC....I priced one and I think it came to like 6k.

i think it's that expesive because there are only 3 rondoval suites and they are their own separate building. you could definitely do sandals st lucia for less than that if you stayed in a regular suite or even a lower suite with butler service

we looked at that too...the lowest suite with butler service was just a bit over 10,000...
our cousins went there for their honeymoon 2 weeks ago and for their room i believe basic room was about 5000 for a week.

12k is a lotttt of money for 7 or 8 nights. Look around and talk to a travel agent. It is defintely possible to go on a nice honeymoon for under 4k. I know for our honeymoon we will be going with an all inclusive resort that way we know we have food, drinks, etc. covered.

That sounds like a lot for St. Lucia, but it is becoming a top destination. I know some girls on here told me for Hawaii budget $1k a day, rule of thumb. I think there are plenty of places you can go to the Carribean for under $5k.

are you dead set on a suite? we are going for 10 days and are looking at a 5000-6000 dollar price...the rooms are beautiful, wed rather stay longer than pay for an extravagant room

I was shocked by how much Hawaii costs, FH and I really wanted to go there and now we're not sure because of the long flight and everything. It's harder cause we're getting married in August so I'm afraid of Caribbean/Mexico with hurricane season. It seems like all the nice, hurricane-free places are craaazy expensive!

we paid about 4500 for 7 nights in an oceanview penthouse concierge room (no butler, but concierge, roomservice and in room bar) + flights

Re: has anyone looked into honeymoon prices yet?

We looked at the st. lucia grande sandals at the private villa on the beach and it was 15,000. BUT my FH gets 20% off and my FMIL and FFIL are paying for our honeymoon so they said if that is what we want we can go BUT i think that is crazy!!!!! i can justify spending that much money on it!!! So now we are looking at other suites there to see if the private villa is that needed!!!

Wow, we haven't really looked but we were thinking of the 5k-7k range... holy crap... We don't have an extra 12k lying around.

It's just so early to start thinking about it... I'm still going to put it on the back burner and see what happens.

you should look on Expedia, they sometimes have some good deals.
