My MOH and I went looking at dresses at David's Bridal this weekend not expecting to find anything. Well, I found a dress that I absolutely fell in love with. The only problem is, Im not getting married to July '07 and if I ordered it now, I would have to hold onto it when it came in until its time to get it fitted (so it will be in my possession for over a year). Im worried about 2 things. One, will the dress discolor or something if I hold onto it myself, and two, is it too early? I dont know if Ill find another dress as much as I love this one and I dont want it to be discontinued while I look around. Im interested in hearing everyone's opinion.

I ordered mine, the dress shop may be able to hold it for you until get your fittings. I would look into that.

Don't chance it, if you know it's the one get it now. You don't want the dress to be discontinued. Just hope you don't see anything else in the next year. See if they could store the dress for you.

I ordered mine already too and I'm getting married in June '07. I didn't even think to ask but I assumed that the bridal shop would hold the gown for me until my fitting. i thought they all did that.

I ordered my dress, because every single bridal salon I wen to told me that my designer takes a really long time to come in. They also told me that they would hold on to it for me if need be.

I havent ordered mine yet (i want to loose about 30 lbs before) BUT if you fell in love with the dress now and you know thats the one then go for it!
Def ask them though if they would be willing to hold it until its time for fittings! what dress did you end up liking?

I am also getting married July of 2007 and ordered my dress. My bridal salon wil store my dress until my fittings. You should also find out if they do the sAME

my moh ordered from Davids bridal and they would not hold her gown, so it is home in her house... If you could hold out, I would personally...ask the store how often they discontinue gowns, because i was under the impression and i could be wrong though, that davids doesnt discontinue too often..

I just ordered my dress last weekend, and I'm not getting married till the begining of November of 07. But I LOVED this dress, its a Maggie Sottero, its called Veronica, and its being discontinued b/c its from her 03 collection, so yeah, when I get married I'll be wearing an out of style dress.. but I love the dress, and yes, they will hold it until all the fittings are done and i'm ready to take it home!

I too plan on looking after the holidays... and hopefully I will find something by MAy 06 ... yes 5 whole months.... .

Same here...I am getting married in May 2007!! I will start in January!! Although I have already tried on some!!!
