Has anyone researched or considered having...

Has anyone considered professional lighting at the reception? I have read all of this stuff in bridal magazines about how the new thing is to get professionals in to create a special mood with lighting. Nothing tacky. Think Preston Bailey or Melissa Rivers' wedding.

I think that Oheka would not need this sort of enhancement.

a friend of mine is getting married at East Hampton Pointe and they are using a lighting coordinator. Apparently their dance floor will be in a tent outside and this is the standard procedure??

my DJ offered this service, but said given the size of my room, it would not be necessary. he indicated that only very large weddings would really benefit from something like this.

I haven't called anyone and I think it will be outside my budget, but I think it adds a GREAT extra touch if you can swing it. There was a woman on the weddingchannel who researched it and posted the quotes she got. I will try to find it and send it to you. She phoned bentleymeeker.com (think he did Melissa Rivers lighting if you see the site), frost lighting, and storz or stortz lighting. I also found someone in the Hamptons but I don't know anything about him. His site said 'no job is too small.' I'll try to find that for you too. Pin spotting is probably the most common thing, but I am personally obsessed with making my tables glow from underneath. I am thinking of having minimal flowers and putting it towards the lighting instead.

it definitely adds a dramatic effect to have pin spotting on your centerpieces and uplighting around the room.

I work for a floral design studio that often works with lighting experts to create the right effect. Depending on the room, its generally $1000++
