my coworkers niece went there and loved it and friends of ours went there in November and they didnt have a great experience there

i was going to choose the Riu but it was a little out of our range and my TA said it was on the more windy side of the beach and had less restaurants than the Occidental so we chose the occidental

was there enough entertainment at night? I stayed at a RIU in the bahamas and the entertainment at night wasn't great.

Thanks for the suggestion!

one of the top resorts on the island. make sure you make dinner reservations early, book up quick.

The Riu and Occidental are only two hotels away from each other, I wonder how it could be on the less windy side...we went to Aruba for our HM and the whole island was windy!

To answer the OP, the Riu was absolutely 100% amazing. Nightlife was ok...nothing too crazy, but we met a couple there and had a great time. Food was delish, and we ate soooo much every day. It was beautiful.
