I was going to look into Arthur Murray. I thought I had read someone's review that they took lessons somewhere in Farmingdale (????) But I can't remember who it was. I was hoping to get some other places. Nassau Community has it too, but I'm not sure how good that is.

We used a DVD and practiced at home becaue we ended up not having time to take classes. It was great, easy to use and everyone was impressed and thought we were wonderful dancers. I thought we were horrible but I guess we faked it pretty well. We enjoyed so much though that I think we will take lessons.

I hadn't thought of doing it using a DVD. We had taken a couple of lessons a long time ago through the school dictrict's adult ed, but ended up missing most of the lessons because of FH's work, but it was fun. We both liked it and don't want to make fools of ourselves!

We took lessons with a private instructor and I absolutely LOVED IT! Its not for everyone..and my husband didnt really love it b/c he doesnt like dancing at all...but I had a great time.

Maybe it was me??? We take them at Dance Obsesson in Farmingdale. Private lessons only- it's really the way to go. We took them for the Wedding & are still taking them!!! I really love it, & he surprisingly enjoys it too! Newsday actually just interviewed us along w/ another couple at the studio & it will be in the Bridal section sometime soon, it's all about Wedding couples taking Ballroom dancing for the Big Day .

We did and are still going now- it's so much fun! We've cut the frequency down due to $$ reasons. We take lessons from Kristen at Remember When in St James. They are moving. I can check on the phone number for you if you want. Have fun!

My FH and I took our ballroom dancing at my school district. The adult school program. They offer it 2x a year. This is our 2nd year already. We are back in session in February. We pay $110 for both of us for 10 session. It's every week for 1 1/2 hours.

i took dancing lessons and it helped! i recommend you take private lessons because your instructor can help choreograph the moment you step on to the dance floor to the last musical note. i took my lessons in manhattan's mid town. don't remember how much it was...
