lol i am a worry freak. i know i will be able to do everything myself and with the help of my bridesmaids. i'm just worried about the DAY OF bcuz i wont be able to be everwhere or have time to call vendors, make sure everything is okay, etc. i want to be stress free and get ready with my girls and not worry about if the flowers and the decorations look okay at the church or the RH. i would much rather not spend the money but ive been looking around and some of them are very reasonable and come with GREAT reviews. mostly all the brides on here who have had one said it was such a great help and so worth it.

How much do they charge about or is it a set fee or a % of the total $$$

Re: HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT HIRING A...
I enjoy event planning myself...so I don't know if I would be able to let someone else be in charge No but seriously, it depends on whether I do all the DIY stuff I am planning too and if I need alot of things setup, in that case I might, if the budget allows ofcourse.

Re: HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT HIRING A...
personally, since we're paying ourselves, i'd rather save the $ for something else. i often hear disappointing stories about DOCs not really living up to brides' expectations.

Re: HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT HIRING A...
I am thinking about it, but won't make the decision until closer to the wedding when I know if we can afford it. For me, I tend to get really heated when things go wrong, and instead of me ready to kick someones butt on my wedding day (in my dress) I would rather have someone else handle that stress.

Re: HAS ANYONE THOUGHT ABOUT HIRING A...
I hired one last month. It's nice to know that if something goes wrong it will be taken care of and I don't have to know about it. My mom would have handled everything, but I want her to enjoy the day too and not get stressed out.
I go back and forth with it. It is getting closer to the wedding so fast I just might.

Thats how I felt. We hired our coordinator three weeks after we got engaged, so she has been with us every step of the way. I really love her! She has been able to help in so may ways, even got me 60% off my invites. She's down here in Maryland but has come up to NY with me to do my tasting, meet with photo and video, and buy my dress. I love how she is in constant contact with my vendors, and if there is a question that I forgot to ask, she has the answer because she called the vendor with out me even knowing!
We're on a budget also, but we felt that having a planner was something that needed to be factored into the budget. She was pretty affordable and since we booked her so far out, we will be finish paying her next month!

My Matron of honor is my helper in planning!!!! She just planned her own and she gives me some helpful tips and calls vendors for me!
