Has anyone tried this....

I want to attempt my own invitations using the kits that can be purchased at Michael's. Has anyone tried this or know someone that has? Will I be bald from pulling my hair out or is it fairly 'non-stressful'?

I made my own invites but from stratch, not from a kit. I think the kits are fairly simple....

A girl in my office just used the invitation kit from Michael's to make e-party invites and after a little hair pulling we figured it out. Definitely use the sample website they give you for the template and run the test papers first to see how it all looks. We make copies of the test paper so we could keep trying until it was perfect. Also...we were having a hard time with the printer - everything was printing to the left so we switched the paper size to A5 and it was perfect. The invites came out so nice!

I used the kits to make my menu cards. I bought them at Target. They had really pretty ones with a laser cut out on top. It was really easy. They give you a template and measurements!

I'm starting early so that if I give up - I still have time to order!! Thanks for the input.

I used the kit from Michaels. Mine are one plain card and I glued pressed flowers on them.

We're they somewhat of a headache? I'm thinking that the repsonse cards might give me a problem?

My cousin used one of the kits to save money and it really looked like that. I priced them out and by time you add in the time it takes to do them and the ink for your computer, you could have simple inexpensive ones without the problems.

I've made party invites, my engagent announcements and thank yous on my computer. They've all come out great and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them because they were so personal. I plan to do the same for the wedding. The costs do add up, but it won't even approach the amount you'd pay at a non discount place!

Just make sure you give yourself enough time and that you have plenty of ink cartridges.
