has anyone used a name change kit?

I've seen them advertised online for around $30. They claim that they make the whole process of changing your name easier and include all the necessary forms. I was just wondering if anyone has used one and felt it was worth the money.

not necessary, especially if marriage is the reason for the change. they are forms that are available for free elsewhere. it's not like they are going to go stand on line anywhere for you.

The only forms I had to fill out were at DMV, the bank and Social Security. You can get DMV and SS online or when you go there to change it, and the bank ones vary from bank to bank.

I forgot, there is also a form to change it on your passport, which is available online as well.

If you do a search, you'll find a number of helpful threads on this topic, some of which have the link to the forms you will need.

Everything else either needed just a phone call, a phone call and faxed copy of marriage certificate, or a letter with a copy of the marriage certificate.
