Ugh - accutane. Yeah, it is really strong and yes, it cleared my skin up for about a year....but then the acne came back and it was worse....but the really bad part is now my skin seems to hold scars really badly (it takes forever for the spots from zits to truly dissapear) - and you have to get blood drawn every month to make sure all your levels are ok and you're not pregnant. I wouldn't recommend it - it is costly and a big pain....after all that I found that Proactiv of all things worked better for me!

I used it and have been acne free for years-however it was tough. Your skin gets really dry and flaky, lips too. Your eyesight gets bad at night and you can get really emotional/depressed (like you need that before your wedding). These effects subside a few weeks after you are off of it, but it is a tough go for the months you are on it.

I was on it over ten years ago. I was on it for six months. You get worse before you get better. I had dry eyes and very dry lips, occasionally a nose bleed. Those were my only side effects. You are guaranteed to never have another pimple again. I can say that. I have been acne free since I went off it. I had no scars, no problems. Loved my Dr. Any questions feel free to fm me.
Good luck with what ever you decide.
