Has anyone used Davids Bridal in Carle Place?

I am going to Davids Bridal this weekend. Has anyone used them in the past?

Hi Renee-
I've been there twice, but didn't get my dress there. I did get my veil and my mother bought her dress there.

A firend of mine at work bought her gone there after tying on just three.

It's a good place to try on lots of different styles without having to feel press to buy anything. Plus, you can try something on or close to your size.

Good luck!

Personally, I have heard nothing but horrible things about them at their Carle Place store. I didn't bother going there, because I didn't want to get annoyed or frustrated choosing something so exciting and important. I don't have any first hand experience, but word of mouth was enough for me to stay away. Perhaps you will have a better experience...I hope so! Good Luck!

I bought a BM gown from there a few months back and it was off the rack. They don't do alterations there so I got them done separately. I had no problems at all.

You are going to hear negative things about them, but I'd give them a try. I was able to pull like 5 dresses at a time off the rack and into the dressing room (bring someone to help you, if they are busy it's hard to get someone to zip you) it is very casual there. I got my dress that day, for about $500, off the rack and it fits perfect. It's not an exclusive waiting on you type of place by any means, but I thought it was just fine.

My sister bought her gown there. She dealt with an older woman I think her name was Theresa. She wa really nice. She had no problems. Also my mom bought her dress for my wedding. Since they did not have my mothers size available and there was not enough time to order the sales girl called around to the other stores. She found one and had it shipped. With any bridal store you deal with there are good and bad stories. I bought my dress at Commack Wedding Center and have read horror stories on here about that place but I had no problems.

I agree with wutie -- you hear good and bad with every bridal store. People have different needs/personalities, so there's always going to be differing opinions. I ordered my BM dresses from David's Bridal, but the one in Long Island City, and had no problems whatsoever. The dresses came in within 4 weeks time and you can't complain about the price! And my MOH ordered her second dress (don't ask) from David's and there was no problem with that either!!!

You are the only one who can tell if you like a place or not. You should go there and go with what your gut is telling you. Someone is always going to have a comment on something, so just go with what you feel is right!! Good luck!

I went there and didnt get anything and thought it had a zoo atmosphere
they dont have as nice of dresses as name brand places like macys, bridal reflections, lestans etc.... but that is my opinion PLUS when you finally get someone to help you........ and I HAD an appt. like you....... while you are undressing she keeps leaving you to help other girls and then when you need zippering etc.... she is NO WHERE to be found, if you go, i wouldnt waste my time, bring a friend or your mom to unzip you etc......

A friend of mine ordered her dress in April and was told it would take 5-6 months to arrive. 2 weeks later they called her to tell her it was in. My friend didn't want to pick her dress up yet (wanted to lose some weight, had no place to store it) and the store refused to hold it. They demanded she pick it up and begin fittings. She complained and this went on for a few weeks.

I think she picked it up less than a month later and its just hanging up in her room until her wedding in December.

They don't do alterations there? I ordered my dress from there. Do I have to bring it somewhere else when it comes in? I never heard of that!

They were so nasty in the Carle Place store that I walked out. Originally I went to 2 David's in Southern California and had a great experience. I found something there that I really liked, so I figured that I would try it on again when I got home. They wouldn't even get my original registration form from the LA store, so I could try on the same gown. They told me they don't work like that. I would have to look through everything again to find the gowns. I would never recommend them to anyone. They were HORRIBLE!!!

I got my dress at Davids and it was supposed to be in in mid August, but it came in this week. I am picking it up next week. I know someone who got married last year and bought her dress there, she got one off the rack, had to take it with her, then bring it back when it was time for alterations. They do alterations there, but that it what I have heard the worst stories about, so I am going to bring my dress elsewhere for the alterations (not sure where yet, so any suggestions would be great). I also understand that as long as there have not been any alterations to your dress, and you lose weight, or see another you like better, you can exchange your dress there with no problems.

If you have a chance...you could try to go to the one in Paramus NJ...A friend of mine got her dress there...it was gorgeous and she has nothing but great things to say about them... (do you pay tax in NJ?)

My 6 bridesmaids got their dresses there. They do alterations, but none of my girls had them done there. We had no problems, the dresses cam in in about 3 weeks and they were all the right size and color!! Plus, we ordered them early, so when one of my BM became prgnant, they let her get a bigger size without a problem. I bought my dress elsewhere.

Oh, and they let my girls use their 15% off coupon even though I didn't get my dress there. There $165 dress came to about $150 with tax.
