I'm looking for moving company - I'm moving from NYC to Westchester. I only have a bedroom apartment and they are all quoting me close to a $1,000. THat's crazy!

We were quoted $107 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours.

I moved the contents of a studio apartment literally 12 blocks and paid over $450 a few years ago. That was what the hourly rate got me.
So the $1000 while it's a lot sounds reasonable in comparison.

Flat Rate Movers quoted me about $550...I was shocked at how much lower they were than other moving companies...that's why I wanted to know if anyone used them...there has to be a catch!!!

I belive they run $103 an hour which includes FOUR men and the truck. They may tack on an hour of travel time since its Westchester plus however long it takes to drive up there to do the actual move.
But these guys are good. Ive used them twice. No gimmicks/catches.
