Has anyone used the pack-N-Play with detachable bassinet?
I read that instead of getting a bassinet you can get the pack n' play that includes that bassinet. But I'm confused - does that bassinet actually detach? We don't have room in our bedroom for a whole pack n' play, so I would need a bassinet. Still, I would prefer to spend the money on the pack n' play, since we will use that much longer. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I have one that we keep in out Den. The bassinet is really just a detachable 'level' that you take off once the baby is old enough to just use the pack n play as a playpen.
I'm not sure if that answers your ?? though

Yes, the pack and play we have has a contraption thingy that raises the mattress to a higher lever, thus making it more bassinet like. If you take that thing off and the mattress lays on the bottom, we use it as a play pen.

The bassinet must be used in the whole pack n' play, it can not be taken out and used on its own. So, sounds like it won't work for you if you don't have room in your bedroom.
