Has this happened to anyone?

I sent out my invites over 2 weeks ago. So far I have gotten less than 1/2 of the responses back. In the beginning I was getting them every day and now I have only gotten 2 in the last 5 days. I am wondering if the response card I used caused those are not going to come to not respond. I used the one that says: We look forward to celebrating our special day with you. Please respond by 8/16/01. M______________________ # of guests_________ Since there is not a space for regrets I wonder if people who aren't coming think that not responding is okay. I am really started to get worried because of the lack of responses. Has anyone else had this happen?

People may be confused by that card. But keep in mind that lots of people wait until the last minute so I would wait until 8/16 before panicking.

Wendy - We sent ours out about the same time as you and are having the same experience. We received 5&6 per day at first now we are getting 1 or 2. I think its normal - you get those people who jump right on things and those that always wait. I still dont have responses from some of my wedding party. I have decided not to worry about it until a week after my response date. Then I will have to start calling and emailing.

We have the same response card. The people who cant come are putting '0' in the # of people spot. Ours went out a few days after yours and its very slow. Yesterday we got 2, today we got 2 but last friday and saturday both we got none! Only some of our bridal party have responded too. Some people put it on a table to send out with bills and such so dont worry yet!

Wendy, We also used the same wording as you. Don`t worry. We are having the same experience .. we got a lot of responses back in the beginning, then things slowed down. There are good days and bad. I know some of the people are holding out on responding because they`re waiting to see if they have a date for our wedding. All singles were given the 'guest' option, and I have spoken to some and know for a fact they are holding back. Others are just late in responding. Some people may not know til it gets closer to the date if they can come. Don`t panic. :)

It's nice to know everyone is experiencing the same thing. Makes me feel better. Not even everyone in my family has responded yet. One of my sisters and my brother haven't responded and I know they will be there. I guess it's just that I always respond right away so I expect everyone else to as well. Again thanks for making me feel much better.

Has this happened to anyone? - mine are trickling in.

I have a response date of August 15th and they are slowly trickling in. I think it is just normal. Especially singles I think they hold out to see if they will be bringing a date. And a few friends of mine need to find a babysitter so they can come.

Wendy- One more thing to make you feel better. I am one of those people who ALWAYS forgets to mail the response card back. I have gotten MANY phone calls asking if I will be attending!! Unfortunately, I am a firm believer what goes around comes around, and when I get to that point of waiting for responses, I will get mine!!! I'm sure there are a lot more people like me, and that's what the 'problem' is. I'm glad you're feeling better!!
