Hate Spending Money VENT!!!

I've been SO good not buying lunch and I did so much overtime last week and I was looking forward to my BIG paycheck.

Ahhh but of course something always comes up! I broke my phone by spilling chicken juice on it , my dog needs his annual shots, and FH and I spent fri thru sunday at our new house renovating so we ate out for ALL our meals.

Plus FMIL and FFIL came to help us on saturday so of course I treated lunch which was $80!

And two of my friends had a joint bday dinner in the city and another 70+ bucks out the window.

It's like I can never get ahead on saving for this wedding!

Also, FH decides that he wants to go to Portugal this year (last year we didnt go because we were saving for the house). I assumed we weren't going this year since now we are saving for a wedding but he feels bad since he told all his relatives last year that we'd definitely come this year.

FH also asked ME 'we're going this year, right?' in FRONT of his mom so now if we don't it'll look like I talked him out of it!!!

I can't afford it!!!

Eta: I just changed my 401k to the minimum contribution amount to get my employee match. Ahhh every dollar will count for the next 16 months!

I feel your pain!!! I know 100,000% percent how you feel!

I told FH no more b-day dinner for friends-we'll just meet them afterwards for drinks or something. We went to a thai restaurant in brooklyn for a friends b-day and that was $120 for dinner for the two of us! On thai food! Our dog's annual appt is coming that's MORE money. I TOO broke my phone a few weeks ago and have just been using FH old raggedy flip phone cause i haven't wanted to pay for a new one...then i'm in the middle of dental work and don't want to pay the $600 dental bill but am starting to get calls from the dentist office-i just cancelled my last appt and figured if i didn't go back for a while they'd just forget! LOL! YEA right-so now i've got to pay that too. I just feel like how am i supposed to save for the wedding when the bills just don't stop coming in?? I was SO depressed about $$ this weekend. I'm so glad i have this 2nd job (my 1st job doesn't offer overtime) so i'm looking forward to that extra $$ this week. UGH

I don't even go out anymore b/c i don't want to spend $$- i finally met a friend of mine at her new appt in westcheter and i was wondering if i could pay the toll with a credit card cause i wanted to hold onto my cash!! LOL!!

lol OMG I've been putting off my dentist, gyno, and dermatologist appointments for the longest!!! Haha it's funny though how I ALWAYS get my dogs to the vet on scheduel. Lol, mommy mentality.

And I have stopped going out with my friends too but birthdays are the only exception to the rule...still kind of ***** since I feel so 'boring' and out of the loop.

Yeah, i feel you on the dinner - I didn't even drink because i gave up alcohol for Lent but still the bill was split among us. These kind of things NEVER bothered me but I like CRINGE now. I didn't even go to the bar after dinner because I knew it was more money I would spend.

LOL!! I understand exactly!!! But luckily the people at the table felt mutually with what we were saying-it's just too expensive to keep going out. We didn't think the bill would have been that high; but like you said the bill was split-some people drank some didn't. I don't even want to put gas in the car! UGH-wish i can win the lottery!

Yup, I'm right there too. Part of the reason that FH and I booked all of our vendors so far in advance was so that we have an entire year to pay down or pay off the credit card that we put all the deposits on. As of right now, we won't have to make another large wedding purchase/pay off until the end of the year.

Every check I get I think, ok, this is the one where I can start saving...and then it's something. Someone's birthday, someone's something. I've stopped getting my hair/nails done. We are only going to give ourselves one day a week to go out. We are trying to be as frugal as possible. We both already bring our own lunches to work. No clothes shopping of any kind. We're crossing our fingers that things will work out.

We're also in the middle of trying to modify our home mortgage. We've been doing this since June. Once that gets taken care of (please pray soon ) that will free up $800 a month!!!
