HATING my mother right now!! vent..long..sorry

Okay so my mom is one of those people who just loves drama and loves even more to fight over nothing. So yesterday she calls me to remind me that she hasn't received a thank you for the shower (which was less than 3 weeks ago). I told her I didn't have the time to finish all of them yet because I've been so busy finishing up wedding stuff and she starting yelling at me and hung up on me...COOL!
Then today stupid me calls her to tell her that I need her to find me baby pictures for the videographer and she says well what have you done for me? ***!?
(Sidenote..I work for a huge cosmetic company) She's like I asked you to pick me up new make up and you didn't so now I'm not wearing any for the wedding!! she never gave me a specific brand or color or anything and the last 2 times I picked stuff she hated it! (she hates everything, really). So she just *****.

It's bad enough that she's wearing the SAME dress she wore to my sister's wedding A YEAR AND A HALF AGO to my wedding, but she's not getting her hair done (it's horrendous and always looked like she was stuck in a wind tunnel & I offered to have someone come to my house to do it for her and I would pay and she still said no she doesn't need it!!!), NOW she claims she's not wearing make up!
I have really had enough already...it'll be a miracle if I don't kill her before the wedding!

But my mom has refused to let someone else do her hair as well, claiming that they will make her look like a squirel! I mean, she fixes her nice but I thought it would be fun since it is a special day. NOPE

She flipped out when I suggested it. I don't understand.

Sorry you're dealing with that...My shower was 8/26 and I didn't get all my thank-yous out yet either. There's just not enough time in the day!

Lol, I can also related to the makeup requests. I work in the beauty biz and the wish lists I get are insane

Oh boy---im sorry your going through this...I've been having some difficult times with my mom too -

Here's what everyone has told me...

Don't sweat the small stuff and worry about you and your FH - the day will be great and everything will come together...Its just really hard to see that all right now.

Dont let your frustrations show with your mom or it could snowball - just take a deep breath and it will all soon be over

I' m sorry she is doing this, espcially this close to your day!
She'll come around, maybe she is just stressed about your wedding too

oh boy!!! it sound like uhave a real issues onur hands. I dunno.. the only advice i can give is stear clear from ur mom for the next few weeks till the wedding passes and a bit after... this way u are not stress till after uc ome back form ur honeymoon..
oh and I never sent my mom a thank you card for the shower.. ijust gave her a big old hug and said thanks.. that was enough inher book and in mine ...ithinku mom was just looking for a reason to call

Awww, I am so sorry you are going through this. Hey why don't you find pics of bad MOB and elegant ones and show her the comparison.

Come on mom we don't want to go back in 2,3,4 or some odd years and regret looking like Medusa on your Daughters WD.

Collect your thoughts and talk calmly with her, make her understand.

As for your TY notes my Shower was second week in Aug. and I just got my TY out this week. Trust me my FMIL was calling.

I am sorry that your mom is upsetting you so close to your big day!!!

I agree.......seems like she is looking for attention right now and is going about it the wrong way But one thing about the dress she is wearing.....my MIL wore the same dress to our wedding that she wore to her daughters wedding 6 years ago and her sons wedding 4 years ago.......she LOVES that dress so it didnt' bother me aslong as she was happy........so if it makes her happy, then maybe you can pick your battles with this one? good luck though

Yeah, she's definitely attention-needy! and with the dress...it's not the biggest deal for me because she does claim that it is the only dress she has felt comfortable before...but the fact that she wont get her hair done or now wear make up(which she does everyday) ...she's just being petty and childish!
I'm not going to stress myself out and give her the satisfaction of a fight. I'll get over it, I always do!

ooh that really really sux... she might be freaking out that her little girl is getting married and having a hard time dealing with it. Not an excuse, but maybe if you spend some extra time with her she'll mellow out a bit.
