hating on the watermill right now

so i caleld my hall about a month & a half ago to find out if i dont make my minimum if i can pay for 'add-on's' instead....

my Bm wasnt there they said hed call me back. still waiting. i just called AGAIN & shocker, hes not there..they said to call back tomorrow! freaking annoying! like this bridezilla needs this stress right now!

GRRRRRR darn watermill jerks!!!!

I went through this with Woodlands too.. My BM always had off whenever I called.. it was so damn irritating! And then I'd forget to call the next day

like, do they just want their money & dont care how they get it???

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but most places don't do anything for you. We were under by 33 and our place wasn't willing to help us out...THANK GOD we got last minute people and are only under by 11 right now. However, I can make a suggestion. THere is this place called Island Harvest that you can call. They pick up whatever is left over and distribute it to homeless shelters on the Island. We are going to do that if we are still under the day of. Whatever's left over will go to them. You do get a tax write off too, but I love the fact that we're helping others... if we're spending the money anyway, at least someone will enjoy what's left over!!!

Watermill is a Scotto Brother right? Fox Hollow is Scotto Brothers and told us that if we did not meet our minimum that they do add ons (extras at CH, chocolate fountain...)

And also are you getting your own cake? When I went for my menu I told them I was bringing an outside cake so they are giving me a chocolate fountain in place of the wedding cake they provide.

technically WM is a scotto FAMILY establishment---they are not considered Scott BROTHERS...they are run by a different part of the family.

i gotta be honest, i don't know if you'll be able to get any 'add-ons' -- it probably depends on the # u are under and how big your count is in general. but chances are you'll be lucky to get an ice sculpture out of them, if anything at all

try talking to another BM if the one u worked with isn't available. during our time working with them---we met with 3 different BMs when went in--our original one was not the same that went over our final meeting.

I agree - try to talk to someone else. I'm sorry you're having trouble - it surprises me because we were pleased with how responsive they were when we called. Who's your bm? Do you have their email address?

how much under were you?

you still have about a month until your wedding. Just invite people you would have liked to, but couldnt.. thats what we did.

we were only under by about 5 people so our RH counted 4 children as 2 adults and our 4 vendors as 2 adults etc etc... so instead of paying for our minimum PLUS children and vendors, they threw us a bone..

We were still under by a few people b/c relatives who RSVP'd with guests didnt bring guests, but it was no big deal...

if theyre giving u that much trouble, I'd so totally change halls. Even if it means waiting for another date or in another year.
Almost every hall you can always upgrade. We added alot more at Villa Lombardi's and they were amazing, finally, about 6 months before the wedding, my mom just told them to add everying imaginable to the wedding! they did it with a smile!!!! i have never been treated like such royalty and with respect than at villa lomabrdi's! i've dealt with bm of different hallas and they were nasty. I loved Villa for their food and their HUGE cocktail and Venise hour, but the grounds were also beautiful and the people were so polite and so amazing! Its definitely worth the $.

update:

I STILL don't have my answer....our BM finally called us back & left a voicemail & then when we called back he was unavailable...so then the game of phone tag continued

we r going there tonight to go over our menu, etc so i guess i will just ask then.

grrrr!

we had to guarantee 150..we are about 140 right now. I still have like 6 people who havent RSVP's yet (damnnnn themmmm!!!) so we shall see.

maybe they will count the flowergirl & ringbearer as adults. and then the dj (1) & the video/photographers. (5 altogether)

my BM was Brian.

we went to the watermill lasts night to finalize our menu where we met with christine, who was GREAT!!!

we picked our menu & a few add-on's! (YAYYYY!)

we are right on the border of making our 150 minimum so they are going to count our vendor meals & kids (flowergirl & ringbearer) as full meals to help us get closer to our min. (normally the vendors would cost 1/3 of the reg cost per plate.)

she explained everything clearly & answered all my questions.

Brian popped in for all of 2 seconds. w/e.

hooray for christine! hahah!

my final numbers are due on oct 24th along with our final payment, seating plan, etc.

i drop off all the stuff- cake toppers, pics, frames, guestbook, etc on mon oct 29th! yikessssss!!!!
cant believe its finally almost here!!! whoaaaa..still soo much to do!
