There is usually one that is pretty decent in Glen Cove. There is also a great one in a jail in Philadelphia.

I love going to these things too. The best one that we've been to was at the Bayville fire dept. Here is the website: www.bayvillefirecompany.com
I just got a flyer for this one in Melville - haunted mansion and also a haunted nighttime corn maze. www.schmittfarms.com
Enjoy!

Re: Haunted houses??

I am a huge connesseur (sp) of Haunted Houses and let me tell you, Bayville is the absolute best of the best on Long Island. However, the lines are out of control - almost 2 full hours to get in and it's not cheap. But it's worth it. The effort they give is 100%. I've gone into some of them and the kids making $5.00 an hour could care less if you are scared or not. There is also one at the Holbrook Fire Department that is pretty good too. I would say Dee's Nursery in Oceanside too, but I'm not sure if they operate it or not anymore. I used to work there and during that time, I would have to say it was the best. What can I say? I'm a little freak who loves to see the kiddies cry

The Dark Side one is awesome. We go every year!!!

We also have been to the Schmitt's Farm one in Melville and that is good too.

There is one in West Islip on Union at he Fire House also, but we have never been.

In Holbrook, I think they ahve one at the Fire Department too, on Patchogue Holbrook Road, and that one I beleive is also good, if it si the smae on that used to be in Sayville.

My friend used to rent part of a house on Schmitt's Farm's property and the chain saw and screaming would keep her up all night during weekends in October.

Re: Haunted houses??

I work at 2 of the Haunted Houses...

The Darkside in Wading River is intense!
Many people don't even get INSIDE the actual house after just walking in the outdoor part.

SpookyWalk in Center Moriches is more 'family' oriented. It's not as scary as The Darkside, but there is a lot more more to see.

Both get very crowded, so try to arrive early, or wait in line.
