My mom'll always be my best friend I think but I also think my DH will always be quite close to his mother...

Re: Have a daughter...
I think it all depends on how much of a mama's boy he is!!
I have an ex that that definitely does NOT apply to. He will always be a mama's boy.

Re: Have a daughter...
My mom always says that! It bothers me - no matter what gender....no one can take the place of your mother!

THIS is definitely true!
My DH is not a mama's boy in the least... (thank God!) but he is still close to his Mom and very good to her. Yet I think its still a different type of closeness than I share with my Mom (and actually , more my Dad)
We definitely are around my parents more, spend more time with them, etc. And on the other hand, my brother spends more time with his inlaws , and he actually WAS pretty dependant on my Mom
So in our case this phrase is rather on target .... but definitely not the rule

Re: Have a daughter...
I think my MIL might agree, but she is never satisified. DH is her only child. We do see them frequently , but DH is just not as close to her as I am to my mom-- that has very little to do with me.

Re: Have a daughter...
I think it's true.
It's definitely that way in my relationship and in most that I've seen. I think in most relationships, social and family matters seem to fall with the woman and most people are naturally drawn to their own families.
