1st before you worry about what you want being an upgrade just discuss with them your vision. You say u want a simple cake so maybe thr will end up being no upgrade. Never know until u ask.

As far as the taste.. was this just 1 persons review or did u hear this from numerous ppl? If it was just 1 person try to not let that 1 review scare u. U said u tried the cake and it was good at the bridal show. Maybe u can find out about a cake tasting for the flavor of cake u want??

THIS!! I heard the same thing about a bride's cake from Sand Castle. I looked up the bakery (it's a very well known bakery, so I was surprised) and talked to the venue about it and they said that they have never gotten a complaint about them. Sometimes people just have a bad experience, but don't let that sway the way you think, but I would definitely bring it up to the bakery when you get to that point. Try to FM the bride who had the problem and then state those exact problems to the baker.

Buttercooky Bakery in Floral Park. It gets great reviews, so maybe it was just that one experience

Do we know what bakery it is? I would say go there and buy a cake, to taste, worse case ask for the cake to be credited and go w a place your comfortable with. (if it can be done) I am going for our tasting at WM tmrw so I could ask if you want?

I met w lorena at WM tonight and she said that they use Francescas, and if you want to meet w them you are able to, she also said if you choose to bring in your own cake she can work with you in crediting another item to you reception. Hope that helps!
