Have a Question- Name Change

Ok When you apply for your marriage license you put a Surname right. Once your married is that automatically your name or do you have to go through the whole process to have it changed?

You have to go change it at most places like DMV, Social security (i think this one is first), doctor's offices, credit cards, work etc.
