Have to reschedule precana

I was sort of happy I would be getting it over with soon, but FH found out he isn't allowed to miss any classes so now we have to change to the Spring. Ugh.

Sorry you have to reschedule!! That's not so bad tho, it'll help keep things in perspective as you get closer to the wedding.

Well I was kind of worried about going and so I wanted to get it over with. Now I have to wait until February.

I am curious to know what pre-cana really is and what is involved.

I am Jewish. We meet with Rabbis to discuss the ceremony and there are other rituals that more religious Jews partake in too. I just see a lot of posts about pre-cana and I like to learn what other faiths and cultures do.

Pre-Cana is the marriage preparation program that couples marrying in the Catholic church must complete. The title comes from the Bible story in which Jesus attended a wedding in Cana where he performed one of his miracles. The program gives Catholics an opportunity to learn about their future spouse and learn about the sacrament of marriage. The couple usually meets with the priest or a couple from the church three or four times to discuss different topics such as children, money, religion, and other marriage related issues. The couple also takes a questionnaire that helps identify important topics which may not have been fully discussed yet between the couple. Since the Catholic church views marriage as a life-long commitment, Pre-Cana is also a chance for the priest to ensure you are not marrying under duress and that the couple is ready for such a commitment.

hey, I'm getting married 3/4/06 and have my name waiting on my St. Pat's in Smithtown and my FI's in Huntington. They all say that they don't have enough married couples to run it.

I may have to do the same...My fiancee might be getting this job that would require him to go away for some training...I wanted to get it over with too...
