we have been over this 1000 times. The good thing is that we both cook, so who ever gets home from work first starts dinner. He refuses to clean bathrooms...so I guess I have to do that! He says he is going to help...The real test is when we move in![]()

i agree....the only way to know for real is when you move in...

Just kidding. We've been living together for 3+ yrs, so we have a system now, but it was tough in the beginning. We basically do what we're both better at....!

When we moved in together, I thought it was going to be really tough to get him to help around the house because his mother has waited on him hand and foot all his life. What I didn't count on were the cops he works with teaching him how to be domestic, LOL! Turns out, that as junior man in the precinct, he had to clear the table and wash up after every meal they had together, so when we moved in, he did it without asking. I was shocked!
In the bathroom, I'll do the basin and toilet and he'll do the shower/tub and floor. He doesn't want to get 'icky' by cleaning the toilet, but he hasn't yet figured out that cleaning the toilet and basin takes maybe 10 mins, tops, and the stuff he has volunteered to do takes like, 30!
He is a little anal about what he calls my 'clutter,' but we've managed to strike a happy balance. Whoever cooks, the other one does dishes, etc. He has, however, informed me that the babies are 'your gig,' i.e., getting up in the middle of the night and changing diapers and all the unpleasantries associated with small infants. He says when they're clean and smell nice then he'll play with them. I told him it will all be over with as soon as he holds the first one in his arms and falls in love. He'll never want to put them down....

we live together now. he pays all the bills & cooks & i clean. not a bad deal huh? ![]()
