Me and FH had the same argument - in the middle of eating at Friendly's no less!
He thinks it is a waste to register for china and stemwear (he thinks we should register for electronics - damn boy brain of his) - but I think that china/stemwear is good to register for because it is something you will probably need but probably wouldn't buy for yourself!
He finally conceeded - but only because Best Buy doesn't have a bridal registry

We had one fight, but not over china or stemware, it was actually over a comforter. It lasted for about five minutes and then it was over. We actually had fun. He liked scanning everything with the gun!
You know.... I would actually like to register at Beste Buy.. it would be really cool to get a TV, a camera, a video camera and other stuff from there.

My FI loves Best Buy and Circuit City...I guess it would be cool to get those things I am relieved to hear that you CAN'T REGISTER THERE!

I told him before that I think it's perfectly fair that we make him a registry list for Home Depot! He dreams of owning all these tools and hey if it's going to help fix things - why not?

HAHA! And I wouldn't even hate the idea of Best Buy - except his exact words were 'we should register at Best Buy! Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a Videogame or DVD collection as big as Blockbusters?'
If only he was kidding Plus the fact we have no furniture for our soon to be home - so we'll have videogames but no couch

All I want is a quesadilla maker and some paper plates. I'm simple.

We registered but only have 1 thing on the list so far! I don't see there being too many arguments. Although, FI wants to register for outlandish things like a go-kart or $500 sheets just to see if anyone would get them. FI would also be happy if we registered at Best Buy! He also made a comment about how many great things we could get. I just laughed!

There is something wrong with my FH
We haven't register but we'll go to Fortunoffs and look at items we would like (the trip to Fortunoffs is ALWAYS his idea) and when we're there he loves to pick things that he wants to register for...he's like a kid in a toy store...the only items he just doens't understand registering for is good china and stemware...he doesn't understand why we would make someone pay 'ridiculous' money for plates and glassses we're going to use twice a year if that Besides that he just has a blast...he tells me what colors and patterns 'our home' is going to be....

Thumbalina...my FI is the same way. He is obsessed with our registry!
He also doesn't understand about the China and stemware but I am wearing him down about that
He is really getting into it which I love!
My friends were like go by yourself first and pick out what you like and then give him a few choices...but I didn't want to do that. We are both going to own and use all of this stuff. Its for both of us not just me
