Have You Ever Been Called A Bridezilla?

Have You Ever Been Called A Bridezilla?

One of my bridesmaid calls me a bridezilla. She's the only one who has called me that. And I'm actually upset that she calls me that. I don't even think she knows what the word means. I have gone out of my way to make things more pleasant for everyone, taken into consideration two different cultures to plan a good wedding.

And I have taken on all the stress of wedding planning all on my shoulders and don't even ask her or anyone for help anymore 'cus I realize not everyone cares that much about the wedding but me and FH...

Bridezilla is a term used to describe a difficult, unpleasant, perfectionist bride who leaves aggravated family, friends and bridal vendors in her wake. A bridezilla is obsessed with her wedding as her perfect day and will disregard the feelings of her family, bridesmaids and even her groom in her quest for the perfect wedding.

I have..but unfortunately people use this term very loosely now-a-days with brides. It's a shame..but what can you do? I just laugh it off...

Re: Have You Ever Been Called A Bridezilla?

Only one time a coworker of mine called me a bridezilla. She asked me (I did not mention it first, she asked me ) if my dress came in yet and I said 'no not yet'. And then she said oh your a bridezilla aren't you, how many time have you called them to see when it is going to come in. And I told her, I haven't called them once yet, and I don't plan on calling them at all unless it is a month before the wedding and the dress still has not come in yet. She said she was just kidding, but I just said whatever and walked away. But other than that, I have not been called a bridezilla by anyone else (yet anyway).

Yes, I put together our list of people, and I asked my mom to look at it and specifically asked her to go over who we should cut off, who she wanted to add etc. So she is looking at it, and she goes, 'why did you add this person?' so I said, ok, well if we can cut them then fine. Then she goes, 'well I have to add this person' so I said fine, that is what I asked you for. So she goes, 'ok bridezilla.' I was like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That has nothing to do with being a bridezilla! I just said, I wanted to know who you wanted to cut and add. That is why I asked you. So my sister was sitting right there, and she goes, 'uh, I think it's more like MOMZILLA.'

Needless to say, my mom didn't like being called that, and my sister (who is 16) stuck up for me, and said, 'she is not even close to being a bridezilla, and you used the word wrong.' So obviously we just got a nasty look thrown our way, but my sister and I gave each other a knowing look.

One co-worker did as he described how his wife was a year ago when they got married and how I remind him of her.

One friend did over the way I was explaining I wanted my photos done.

FMIL liked to call me a bridezilla all the time. Ironically, I was a very chill bride - even when things got bad. I'll admit I had my bridezilla moments, but they all occurred in the privacy of my own home with just FH around. I think she thought it was funny, but I was not amused at all, especially since it was coming from a huge MOG-zilla.

I've never been called a bridezilla though FI thought it was hilarious to make my hands look like godzilla and make roaring noises

My mom has been the only one to call me that too. Anytime we have a disagreement or we don't see eye to eye, she calls me that. And it gets me really aggrivated, because I'm not.

My friend (who is also engaged) called me a bridezilla on many occasions. She thinks that because I took my time to select vendors that I was being a 'bridezilla' because I am too 'picky' In the meantime, she is the one that has been a super BRIDEZILLA because she's been such a b*tch to everyone in her path regarding her wedding!! I want to strangle her sometimes!! Sorry!!! I had to vent a little!!

My mother and aunt have both 'jokingly' referred to me as a bridezilla and I flipped out. I'm not even close! And when I watch the show it's even more annoying to be compared to those freaks!

I'm not even stressed out or demanding or acting out or anything along those lines so it really p i s s e d me off. But that's my family. I love them but they know what buttons to push to get me riled up and they definitely push them.
