Have you ever Cancelled a Vendor???

Have you ever Cancelled a Vendor???

I feel that I might have booked a vendor rather quickly for one aspect (not major like Florist or DJ) for our wedding, and I'm kind of regretting that I didn't look at other vendors before doing so. I have another appointment w/another vendor in August, and I'm afraid that I might end up wanting to go w/them, and will have to cancel the original vendor.

i haven't had to do that (yet) but if it was my gut instinct and i wasn't loosing TOO much money, i wouldn't hesitate!

I regret not cancelling one.

If you're willing to lose your deposit, then keep looking.

I didn't necessarily 'cancel' but I did switch two of my vendors. I was going to use an aquaintance for my flowers. After being stood up by her once and her being a real slacker with returning calls I said forget it. I had been having nightmares about my flowers and I was so relieved after I booked LABlossom.
I also didn't go with the first girl I had a hair trial with. I had never actually hired her, but they called me a week before the wedding to confirm and I had to tell them that I was using someone else.

It was my MU trial. it was my first one, and I think in the excitement of it all, I booked her on the spot.

Did you give a deposit? Some vendors make you just in case you cancel.

I cancelled a major vendor and got our deposit back plus an apology letter from the owner (2 months before wedding)

well, not really a vendor, but we switched churches. Best decision I made.

I just cancelled my origianl florist yesterday, NOT something I was happy about because I REALLY loved her, but my Fh and I are both in the industry, and we ended up getting an AWSOME deal though someone else(that I don't like as much) But...it came down to $$$ for me.

As long as you give enough time to cancel in advance so she can give the date to someone else...it shouldn't be a problem.

We just cancelled our limo vendor (we had booked in November), had no problem finding a replacement we are pleased with (so far). We did not get our deposit back but a credit to use later, which is fine for a more low profile event (ie car to airport or something). Did NOT expect that to happen but was too worried so am so glad we did.

I feel so horrible, I think I am the queen of cancelling. So far I switched my church, hall & photographer! (all within a reasonable amount of time) I am in the process of getting my $$ back from the hall. Words of advice 'Try to do your deposits with credit cards, beacuse if there is a dispute, they most likely will back you up.

I think something as important and personal as MU, you have to be 1000% happy with. If she is a true professional, you shouldn't have a problem with cancelling. Just be honest with her.

I went with my gut and cancelled my original videographer. It was one of the best decisions I made. I did loose my deposit however

I cancelled my original makeup artist but kept her to do my MIL's hair & makeup. I didn't give a deposit so I didn't lose any money.

ETA: It was the right decision. I don't regret it.
