Have you ever had..

Has anyone ever had a breast sonogram. I know it doesnt hurt but is there anything I have to do to prepare...im thinking, it must be embarrassing right?

I have to admit though, Im more afraid of the results than the actual test itself.

It's no big deal. I'm sure the tech will be female and they do this all the time. It's over quick.

Have had it done every year for the last couple of years. Not a biggie. STOP THINKING SO MUCH!! You are making it worse in your head than it is. I told you cold googy and boring that is it. Keep positive thoughts and you will be fine!

I have had a breast sonogram along with a lump removed. The sonogram was really no big deal. I have had so many of them...cause I had many different opinions.

Also, the tech tells you nothing right? I have to wait for my gyno to read the results correct?

When I had the songoram done the results were always told to me immediately. I always had it done right in the doctor or surgeons office.

I do regular mamograms and sonograms because my mother had breast cancer at 31 -

It is NO big deal - I have to do them regularly since they found a lump last year -

I would check with your dr - because I 'think' but NOT 100% (don't remember if it was for the mamogram or sonogram or both) but I was told NO powder OR deodorant - it can mess up their machines and test results I believe. You might want to check on that

I have, and while it was slight uncomfortable, it didn't actually hurt. I didn't find it embarassing, just a little awkward, picking your boob up and down and placing it all over. You'll be fine.

It is not as bad as you think. My mother just went for her first one since she had a mastectomy last year. She said the worst part about it was that it was cold!

BTW, she is still cancer-free

I've had many breast sonograms, it doesn't hurt at all. They just move a wand over your breast. It's not anything.

The technicians don't normally say anything. I've had fibroadenomas (benign breast tumors) in both breasts. I just had 2 lumps removed last week. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
