Have You Made the Mistake of Booking Something Too Soon?
I booked my honeymoon for the best price I could find. Then my FI's mother gave me a quote she got yesterday b/c they only faxed it to her yesterday because it was from someone she know. Their quote was $100 more per person and had the same things, but also included the honeymoon package that gives you wine upon arrival, his and hers massage, sunset cruise, and breakfast in bed on one morning. I called up mine, and it'd be $200 per person to get it. I called up the hotel, and it's $295 per couple. Now I'm bummed because I could have had a great deal right there. I wish I didn't know that I missed out on that one!
Has anyone else had this happen where they came across a better price after they were already booked?

Thats why I'm very hesitant to book anything. I always feel a better deal will come along! I do a lot of research before I book anything.

Why can't you just cancel it?

Isn't there a fee to cancel since I booked a flight? Wouldn't it just come out the same?
I booked b/c the agent said the flight was booked, but that she could get me on. That's what others said. This one had the direct flight though.

Im the same way as Julz.. Im so afraid to leave deposits esp. so far in advnace b/c I always think there going to be a better deal or something.. so far I havent started second guessing or still looking at other photographer/videographers, but I did do it with my hall since I booked it a year ago! ( cant help it!!)

if you have a good travel agent they should be able to adjust your package etc to get the better price/benefits as they come out - mine has usually done this

I would call your travel agent and tell them point blank, I want to know why '__THIS__' agency can only charge me $100 more and you are charging $200 more?? I belong to Liweddings.com, and I am sure to give you a crappy review if you can't make this worth our while!
I used Liweddings as part of my bargaining scheme.. it worked! Good Luck!

They're not a vendor on LI Weddings, so I don't think they'd care. They'd probably be like 'what's that?'
It's like I could probably argue if I hadn't booked with them about why they can't do the same thing. But now I'm booked, so whatever it comes down to, if I want to change agents, there's going to be a cancellation fee. What if that's my $200 deposit? That would stink.

I think I'll ask FI's mother to see if that direct flight is still available with the agent she got the quote from. Because the travel agent didn't believe that my package included that flight.

Could you get a print out? Can you find it online somehow and print it out?

I have a copy of the fax with the quote and details. I know airline tickets are non-refundable, but I would want the same flight.
