Haven't been around much, but...

I have some good news. I am pregant!

It is such a bittersweet time for me right now. I am dealing with my father having cancer and I am 4 weeks pregnant. I am so scared of what the future holds.

Anyway, my due date is November 10th. So if Jenny can add me to the expecting list, that would be much appreciated.

Just wanted to share.

Congrats, Denise. I am so happy to hear that you are expecting. Now you have to pop in more often and keep us updated.

I am sorry to hear about your father, though. I hope that he is doing okay. I bet that your good news is helping to keep his attitude positive.

I am really having a very hard time. I have so much to be happy/excited about but everytime I try, my mind goes to the what ifs with my Dad.

How do I deal with my Dad's sickness and be excited about my baby?

This is a very difficult line to draw. I went through almost the exact same thing you are going through. But I think that you need to try remain as positive as possible. Your father needs you now as well as your baby-to-be. I found that my father put up a tougher fight with cancer knowing that he had a new grandchild coming. He always had a smile on his face when my daughter was around.
