Having a bustle dillema..Alfred Angelo gown #1612 :(

I fell in LOVE with Alfred Angelo dress #1612 and I had to have it. The detail is beautiful, especially on the back. I just had my first fitting tonight, and when the seamstress did the bustle, I got a little upset, but didn't say anything. It TOTALLY takes away from the look of the dress and I am hoping there is another way to do this and preserve at least some of the effect. Any thoughts or suggestions? If any one has worn/or will be wearing this dress, how did you do your bustle?

The picture doesn't work...but I'd say if you didn't like what was done then you need to speak up and say something to the seamstress immediately and ask her what other options there are for your bustle. They won't be offended, its their job.

ITA too. You are spending a lot of money on your dress and it should be exactly how you want it. Don't feel bad for speaking up I'm sure they can handle it

I would definitely speak up. What don't you like about it? Is it b/c of the color doesn't look right bustled?? & what color r u going with?

Arg I can't see photobucket pics at work. but from other girls commetns it seems as though it isn't working.

I would suggest looking for old bustle threads on the BHB 09 and 08 boards... or just at random and see the pics posted!! There are lots of bustle pics out there!!!!

I wore the alfred angelo 1516 with the large amount of color in the back and I did the french bustle, it maximized the color and it didnt change the overall look of the back...I would definitely look into that option

I'm going to try to post it again....I am having so much trouble just uploading the picture because it was too big...was trying to resize it and it still will not work.

Arggghhhh....

Thank you for your advice, everyone! I am sorry I could not post the picture.

LOL nevermind it worked...TWICE!

The color is celadon...it's like a mint green color. The dress is ivory....looks beautiful! What kind of bustle is this?

This is how the dress looks without the bustle. I just feel that the way the bustle is takes away so much from the look of the dress...

Jess! Hi, hun! Yes, it's Sarah, and I still stalk LIW, lol. I agree with the other girls. Speak up! The dress looks great but the bustle definitely gives it a different look, and if you do not want that, see what else can be done for you. Call me if you need anything. Love ya.

Sarah!! Yeah I just called the bridal place, she said they will tweak it a bit for me, and if necessary, not do the bustle until the next fitting.

So your dress doesn't need alterations...that is wonderful!!!! Maybe we can send some of the other girls your way, especially one in particular....
