having an argument with fh

we went to see flowers the other day..he feels we should get small centerpieces with a few flowers..i would like to get a topiary with just a few colors but have them be tall because i feel the room we have is huge and the flowers will get 'lost 'so to say if the centerpieces are small..what should we do..

I do love small centerpieces but in a room like Carlyle, you do need tall centerpieces. JMO. It adds so much and with small centerpieces they look lost. Good Luck.

Does Carlyle have a book of photos from past events? Perhaps there will be examples of both and he can see the difference. He may just be having a hard time visualizing it...

it makes me laugh when men have opinions on flowers
I pray FH just stays out of it.

I guess a lot has to do with your budget. Topiaries are beautiful. Can you two compromise? Mix high and low?

Do what YOU want. IMO, brides should pick out the florals. My FI has been involved with EVERYTHING. But, I told him that invitations and flowers were off limits (except for his own boutinerre).

I think with the high ceilings in that room, the high centerpieces would be more appropriate.

try to reason it out with him .. talk about the reasons you want tall ones, and the reasons he wants low ones. just be open to compromise. in the end, you'll be married and it really won't matter how tall or short the flowers were .. it makes much more sense to stop fighting!

I really like the idea of alternating high and low - that way you both get what you want. I think it looks very elegant, just match the same flowers. I'm planning on alternating topiaries and low centerpieces as well! Good luck! :o)

thank you all for your opinion..i think the biggest problem about the flowers with fh is the money..he'd rather have a single rose in a vase on each table because it would be cheaper..lol
