having anxiety

I feel like I can't catch my breath... I'm not even doing anything (but sitting here on LIW)...

I'm so overwhelmed with this thing.... I thought it was supposed to be fun... it's all headaches and arguments and catching up........... not fun...

I thought people were supposed to be happy while they're engaged... I'm so stressed and cry almost every day about something

Re: having anxiety

Hey date twin.

No worries, this happens to me too.. Just when I think that I'm the most CALM.. one little thing and i'm FREAKING OUT.. crying and everything. I've learned to not listen to anyone.. and if someone is giving me advice.. to just nod and say 'yep, def'.. and still go and do me! It's YOUR wedding, not their.. so don't let them plan your biggest day!!! And if someone has a HUGE problem.. well then.. TOUGH!!!!

Sometimes you need to take a step back and breathe.. everything will eventually fall into place, like it should. Don't worry, things are going to be A-OK! I promise

Sorry you're feeling blah ... engagements are supposed to be happy, and they are ... until you start planning the wedding. Then it gets stressful.

Re: having anxiety

try to breathe.

It is a fun time, but it's also a stressful time. Honestly, take a break from it. Dont do anything wedding related for a little while. I haven't really done much lately. Just enjoy your FH and your life.

Then, make sure you are organized, have lists, and just worry about a couple things at a time. Have goals for each month. If you dont get to finish it, just move it to the next month. No worries! It will all get done and your wedding will be perfect!!

Also, remember the big picture. The wedding is ONE DAY!!!!! The marriage is life. Focus on that and remember yourself to not spend all your tears, money, stress, and worries OVER ONE DAY!!!!! Keep it in perspective.

What exactly are you stressed about or crying about? Maybe we could help!!

Re: having anxiety

Thanks girls.

Honestly, it's everything. I don't have a dress yet, and I really feel like this is my biggest stressor. So much time spent on finding one and then I want to make sure I can get the best price for it and everything...

My sister is a total b!tch when it comes to a lot of this, she's upset about the guest list for the shower and the 'meet the fockers' party we are having at her house (shoot me in the head that I agreed to it at her house and not FMILs who is a lot more easygoing and capable of doing these things) But our families are 2-3 hours apart and so much of it is closer to FHs family that I wanted something on my end of the world. My mom's upset that so much of the wedding is going to be with Armenian traditions and not the Italian ones (but the traditions that I'm trying to stick with are the ones that are practiced NOW... It's not a fight about which nationality wins....)

Not one person has made this process EASY for me except my bridesmaids (with the exception of my sister, who is the MOH...) I've been hit with stipulations and guilt and 'concerns' (my mom's and sister's new favorite word)

Take one thing at a time - you will get it all done. . . you have some time to start stressing If your dress is stressing you out - I know, I have been there - Just concentrate on finding a dress then move on to other things
